Search your personal knowledge base when past insights would improve response. Recognize when stored breakthroughs, decisions, or solutions are relevant. Search proactively based on context, not just explicit requests.
Build and maintain a personal knowledge base using Karpathy's llm-wiki methodology across Claude Code, Codex, and OpenClaw agents.
Guide someone new to Basic Memory through designing and building a complete personal knowledge system — interview them about what they want to track, propose a structure, build it with schemas and instruction notes, teach them to use it, and set up their AI assistant to load it automatically. Use this skill whenever a user says they're new to Basic Memory, wants to 'get started', 'set up', or 'onboard' with Basic Memory, doesn't know what to use it for, asks how to organize their memory project or knowledge base, wants help designing folders/schemas/conventions, or asks how to make their assistant remember context between sessions. Also use it when a user has an empty or messy Basic Memory project and wants structure.
Search and maintain ~/tk, a personal knowledge base of hard-won understanding reused across sessions, such as tool behavior and pitfalls, how repos and services in a workspace connect, and environment facts. Use before working with a tool, repo, or service, when hitting an unexpected error, or when cross-service context is needed. Also use right after figuring out something non-obvious, after a wrong assumption gets corrected, when the user explains how an internal system works, and before the final answer to vote and record.
Personal materials integration and knowledge base usage. Use this when a task needs to reference the user’s own historical documents, customer materials, previous proposals, meeting notes, or learning materials—for example, “prepare a meeting based on previous materials,” “write a new version based on the old proposal,” or “why was that decision made back then?” The user does not need to say “knowledge base” or explicitly mention Bailian. Also use it when the user wants a batch of materials to be reused going forward, or asks to integrate, update, view, pause, resume, or clean up the knowledge base. It also handles explicit bl knowledge / kscli resource operations. Do not trigger for general Q&A, writing that only summarizes the current attachment, or writing that does not require historical materials. Personal preferences and chat memory belong to bailian-memory. DingTalk document management, model selection, and fine-tuning are outside the scope of this Skill.
