English Version
Compiled from: Teacher Wang Hengjia's ASO Learning Meeting Minutes (March 2026)
Supplementary Materials: Industry Public Research & Best Practices
Core Framework
This guide covers the complete App growth cycle:
| Module | Core Content |
|---|
| ASO Basics | Store page optimization, keyword research, rating optimization, leaderboard rules |
| Cold Start Strategy | Organic First principle, channel matrix, App vs Web differences |
| UGC Operations | Creator sourcing & screening, pricing & incentives, management structure |
| Multi-Platform Content | Differences & strategies for TikTok/Instagram/YouTube Shorts |
| AI-Assisted Content Creation | AI video production, account health maintenance, multi-version testing strategies (must comply with app store policies) |
| Platform Comparison | Algorithm rule differences between App Store and Google Play |
ASO Core Tools
| Tool | Pricing | Features |
|---|
| Astro | ~$80-90/year | User-friendly, ideal for independent developers |
| DianDian Data | On-demand | Domestic tool with global data, powerful functions |
| AppTweak | On-demand | AI-powered intelligent insights, professional-grade |
| AppFollow | On-demand | Review management + keyword research |
Establish a Baseline for Evidence Collection
Before implementing any ASO revisions, export the last 28 days of data by country/region and traffic source: impressions, product page views, first-time downloads, conversion rate, revenue, as well as D1/D7/D30 retention. Create a change log to record store version, release time, keyword rankings, asset versions, and concurrent paid campaigns.
An effective ASO review must answer at least four questions:
- Did keyword rankings or search impressions change?
- Did the impression → product page view rate change?
- Did the product page view → first-time download rate change?
- Did D7/D30 retention, rating quality, or revenue deteriorate?
Seeing an increase in downloads alone cannot be attributed to ASO; you must also rule out paid campaigns, featured placements, version releases, and seasonality. Currently, the Gingiris asset library does not contain App Store before-and-after comparison cases with the complete metrics mentioned above, so this skill provides an execution framework and does not guarantee a fixed improvement rate.
Supplementary Apple Notes Original Learning Records
The March 7, 2026 "ASO Learning 0307" supports the following execution sequence: Start from user search intent, compare search demand, difficulty, competitor coverage, and regional differences; conduct A/B testing on store assets only after sufficient traffic is obtained; during cold start, founders first personally verify the Organic Winning Format, then hand it over to UGC creators for replication, and finally scale the verified assets.
The original notes are learning records, not controlled growth experiments. Complete evidence and compliance boundaries can be found in references/apple-notes-field-evidence.md.
Compliance Red Lines
- Do not purchase ratings, reviews, search volume, downloads, or leaderboard positions;
- Do not use device farms, batch accounts, or network camouflage to evade platform reviews;
- Do not use clone apps to bypass takedowns or enforcement;
- Only request ratings from real users, do not screen or induce positive reviews;
- Use official PPO / Store Listing Experiments and transparent campaigns for testing.
Cold Start Core Principle: Organic First
Step 1: Founders Take the Lead
- Operate social media accounts personally
- Test various content formats
- Find the "Winning Format" that consistently generates viral content
Step 2: Replicate Successful Templates
- Hand the Winning Format to UGC creators
- Establish management processes (contracts, payments, data dashboards)
Step 3: Scale with Paid Ads
- Use top-performing organic content as ad creatives
- Meta Ads (Facebook + Instagram) is the preferred choice
Three Major Short Video Platforms Comparison
| Platform | User Age | Paid Conversion Rate | Core Metrics |
|---|
| TikTok | 13-18 | Lowest | Completion rate, share rate |
| Instagram | 18-25 | Medium | Share Rate, Like Rate |
| YouTube Shorts | 25-35 | Highest | First 3-second retention rate, completion rate |
UGC Pricing Reference
Base Pricing: $10-20 per piece
Incentive Scheme Example:
- Base fee: $20
- 10K views: +$20
- 100K views: +$50
- 1M views: +$200
Core Differences Between App Store and Google Play
| Dimension | App Store | Google Play |
|---|
| Algorithm Core | Exact metadata matching | Text content understanding + technical performance |
| Keyword Strategy | Streamlined, priority on weight | Comprehensive, priority on density |
| Description Role | Does not affect search ranking | Long description is key |
| Technical Metrics | Indirect impact | Android Vitals directly affect ranking |
